RedWolves come up short against Salamanders

RedWolves come up short against Salamanders

The Florence RedWolves fall to the Holly Springs Salamanders 3-2 on Friday night at Sparrow Stadium.

The game was a scoreless tie until the top of the fourth inning when the Salamanders scored three on a triple with an error that allowed the third run to score.

The RedWolves started to answer back in the bottom of the fourth when Mitch Barrow (Indiana State) singled home Brandon McIlwain (Cal) to make it 3-1.

Florence would get a run closer when Lex Tuten (North Greenville) singled home Leniel Gonzales (Francis Marion) in the bottom of the sixth to make it 3-2.

But that is as close as the RedWolves get.

Parker White (Nicholls State) took the tough luck loss tossing 6.1 allowing three runs (two earned) while striking out five.

The RedWolves will hit the road one final time on Saturday to Lexington County to take on the Blowfish to end the 2019 season.
