The Florence RedWolves defeated the Macon Bacon 7-3 on Friday night at Luther Williams Field.
The RedWolves took the lead in the sixth inning when two Macon pitchers combined to walk four RedWolves and hit another before Eldrige Figueroa (Arkansas Little Rock) singled home Miguel Soto (Arkansas Little Rock) and Isaac Raab (St. Clair CC) to increase the Florence lead to 4-1. The inning was capped off by Jon Mitchell Carter (Coastal Carolina) scoring on wild pitch to make it five runs home in the inning.
Florence would continue to add on in the eighth as Kenny Piper (Columbia College) hit a sac fly that brought in Carter to make it 6-1 RedWolves, and Raab would single home Lex Tuten (North Greenville) in the ninth to make it 7-1.
Macon would add two in the ninth but would come up short.
Parker White (Nicholls State) got the win tossing 6 innings allowing just one run on seven hits while striking out six.
Figueroa lead the RedWolves offense with three hits.
With the win, the RedWolves move to a half game back of Macon and a game and a half back of Savannah in the CPL South Division 2ndhalf standings.
The RedWolves remain in Georgia to take on the Savannah Bananas on Saturday night.
Florence returns to Sparrow Stadium to take on the Bananas on Monday. It will be Yankees vs Red Sox night with gates opening at 6 pm and first pitch at 7 pm.
