The Florence RedWolves fell to the Macon Bacon 10-5 on Thursday night at Luther Williams Field.
The Bacon (12-6) would jump out to a big early lead when they opened the game by scoring in the first three innings. Macon would score four in the first, three in the second and one in the third to make it 8-0.
But the Bacon would answer quickly with a run in the bottom half of the inning.
Florence would answer back with a run in the top of the eighth when Richardson singled home Figueroa to make it 9-2 Bacon.
Macon would again answer with a run in the bottom of the eighth to make it 10-2.
Florence would start a comeback in the top of the ninth when Figueroa doubled home Zach Durfee (Siena) and Lex Tuten (North Greenville) to make it 10-4 Bacon. The comeback would continue when Figueroa scored when Reid Hardwick (Charleston Southern) drew a walk with the bases loaded to make it 10-5.
That is as close as the RedWolves would get however as Florence would leave the bases loaded in the ninth.
Zach Rice (West Chester) got the start and took the loss for the RedWolves going one inning allowing seven runs (six earned) on six hits.
Richardson and Figueroa would lead the RedWolves offense with two hits apiece.
The RedWolves will return home on Friday night to take on the Lexington County Blowfish.
Friday will be Alzheimer's Awareness Night wear purple and come out and bid on the specialty jerseys the players and coaches will be wearing with all proceeds going to find the cure for Alzheimer's.
Gates open 6 pm on Friday with first pitch at 7 pm.
